Kalpi is the Yamuna crossing opposite the Chandela plain; the Ghurid river line meets Chandela ground here.
The campaign board places it with the Chandelas. The Ghurid conquest of Kalpi is dated to the same years as Kalinjar (1202 or 1203, later); on 1 January 1200 it is contested ground on the frontier, held by neither with certainty.
