Kadapa

The chief town of the Pottapi country, the threshold of the Tirumala hills at Devuni Kadapa.

The Telugu Chodas of the Kadapa and Nellore country are Chola dependants, Kakatiya targets or Kakatiya dependants by turns; the Hoysalas press from the south-west. For 1200 we draw the town as contested and say plainly that the sources we read do not settle it.
