Town · The kingdom of Lanka at Polonnaruwa · as at first light, 1 January 1200

Jaffna (Yalpanam)

A sandy peninsula with a Tamil-speaking population, palmyra palms, temples and the Buddhist remains of Kandarodai.

There is no royal city of Jaffna in 1200 (the later town of Nallur is a later foundation); the English Wikipedia dates the Aryacakravarti kingdom from 1215. The ports (Uraturai on Kayts, Jambukola) and the road to Mannar are the connections to Polonnaruwa and the Coromandel.
