Itagi (the Mahadeva temple)

A village in flat country on the Koppal side of the Tungabhadra with the Mahadeva temple, built about 1112 by Mahadeva, a dandanayaka of the Western Chalukya king Vikramaditya VI, and called in its inscription the 'Emperor among Temples' (Wikipedia, Mahadeva Temple, Itagi).

The campaign board says it lies in the belt both the Hoysala and Yadava kings claim after Soratur, and that whether a Hoysala or a Yadava officer collects here in 1200 cannot be settled.

Where the sources disagree

Evidence: The temple, its builder and its date are on the Wikipedia page; the contest is the campaign board's reading. The campaign board gives this place to the Hoysala region but the regional brief gives the ground to sid; no other sheet covers the campaign board id, so it is written here.

"The campaign board" is OMNIA's working map. These notes record where its earlier claims were checked against the sources.
