Hali

A town near the mouth of Wadi Hali which the classical geographers took as the boundary between the Hejaz and Yemen; it had its own petty lords in the tenth century (the Banu Ya'qub, whence its name).

Who holds it on 1 January 1200 is not recorded: it lies north of the Mikhlaf of the Sulaymani sharifs (Ayyubid vassals since 1173-1174, centred on Jazan) and south of the emir of Mecca's reach.
