Chandawar on the Yamuna is where Jayachandra was defeated and killed in 1194.
Etawah, upstream, is the seat we give to Ajayasimha, a kinsman of Jayachandra. Bateshwar, on the Yamuna, carries a Chandela stone of 1195 that shows the Chandela reach to the Yamuna. The Ghurids garrisoned Chandawar in 1194; Etawah's holder in 1200 is not pinned.
