Feldkirchen, on the road from Villach to St.
Veit, came to Bamberg in 1166. It is named as a market (forum) in 1176 with its own court district outside the Carinthian duke's authority, though still without a council, an elected judge or a seal. Around 1200 the bishop appoints the market judge from his knightly vassals; the judge is also burgrave of Dietrichstein, the castle above the town held by the Dietrichstein family since 1166.
Bamberg also has Prägrad castle (1166).
