Pilsāts

Pilsāts (Pilsaten) is the smallest Curonian land, about 200 square kilometres round the mouth of the Danė where Klaipėda (Memel) stands later, at the head of the Curonian Lagoon.

South of it lies Lamata by the Neman delta, between the Curonians and the Prussians of Skalovia; it is not drawn apart. On 1 January 1200 it is free and pagan.

Where the sources disagree

Evidence: Land name and rough position from Rimbert's Life of Ansgar and the 13th-century documents as summarised by en.wikipedia; bounds are reconstructions. Nothing is recorded for 1200.

On the map: Very approximate; Lamata to the south is left to the neighbours.
