Qiang cult

The Qiang keep a village religion of mountain gods, nature gods and ancestral spirits: villages worship five great deities and twelve lesser ones under a supreme God of Heaven, with consecrated white stones on the tower tops, and a ritual specialist (duangong) who keeps the sheepskin drum and the monkey-skull cap (Wikipedia, Qiang people).

The page dates none of it, and the objects that survive are of later centuries. We take the religion as the old village layer of the upper Min in 1200, as a general pattern.
