The history of Yemen's dynasties to the eve of the Ayyubid conquest: the Ziyadids and Najahids of Zabid, the Sulayhids and their queen Arwa, the Zuray'ids of Aden, the Hamdanid sultans of San'a and the Mahdids of Zabid, with Umara's own career as a Yemeni envoy to Fatimid Cairo. Nothing on 1200, but it explains the tribes, towns and claims that the Ayyubid prince al-Mu'izz Isma'il, the Zaydi imam and the Hamdanids of Kawkaban were contesting in 1200. Kay's 1892 volume adds extracts from al-Janadi and Ibn Khaldun that carry the story into the Ayyubid period.
