A Song literatus's anecdotes about the court, a generation after the events, strongest for the reigns of Guangzong and Ningzong that he knew from older contemporaries. For 1200 it gives the inside stories of Han Tuozhou's rise and of the proscription of Daoxue: the quarrel with Zhao Ruyu, the role of the empress dowager Wu and the consort families, the fate of the proscribed scholars and the death and funeral of Zhu Xi. Gossip, partisan for the Daoxue side, but it preserves things the official history leaves out.
