An illustrated verse account of Henry VI's conquest of Sicily, preserved in a single manuscript made at the imperial court. It shows the cast of 1200 a few years earlier: Tancred and his party, Constance, the boy Frederick born in 1194, Markward of Annweiler and the German captains, Palermo, Naples and Salerno, with hostile portraits of the Sicilian opposition. Staufen propaganda, but unique in its pictures of the kingdom's towns and people.
