Novgorod's own record, kept at St Sophia. For 6708 (1200) it tells how the Novgorodians went to Vsevolod of Vladimir and received his young son Sviatoslav as prince, the return of the posadnik Miroshka, the Lithuanian raid on the Lovat and the pursuit by the men of Novgorod, and the church affairs after Archbishop Martyry's death in 1199 and Mitrofan's election. Terse, dated, and the best witness to the city's dependence on Vladimir in 1200.
