Memoirs of a Jin literatus written just after the dynasty fell. Its sketches of scholars and officials, its account of the court's literary tastes and examinations, and its judgement that Zhangzong's reign (1189 to 1208) was the Jin high point before decline give a view of the Jin elite around 1200 from inside. It has no annals for 1200 itself, but its portraits of men who were young or in office then, and its explanation of why the Jin fell, are valuable context.
