The official history of Goryeo, compiled by the Joseon state from the lost Goryeo veritable records. The annals of Sinjong (juan 21, which also holds Huijong and Gangjong) give the court year by year under the military dictator Choe Chung-heon: the king placed on the throne in 1197, the slave plot of Manjeok in 1198, the risings at Myeongju and Gyeongju in 1199 and 1200 and their suppression, Choe's creation of his private guard, the Tobang, in 1200, the Jin investiture embassies, and the deaths and appointments at court. The biographies (Choe Chung-heon in juan 129, among the 'traitors') and the treatises on offices, the army, taxation and geography describe the state he ran. Hostile to the Choe house and compiled 250 years later, but the only full record.
