Excerpta Cypria

Collects in English the passages on Cyprus from Greek, Latin, Arabic and other writers. For the years around 1200 it gives Neophytos the Recluse's letter on the calamities of Cyprus (the Latin conquest of 1191 and what followed), the passages of the Eracles, Ernoul and Arab writers on the Lusignan takeover and Aimery's reign, and the Greek synaxaria. It is the easiest entry into the Cypriot sources, but it is excerpts, sometimes abridged, in translations a century old.
