The Great Chronicle of Tours

The Loire valley's view of the Angevin succession. For 1199 and 1200 it follows Arthur of Brittany and Constance, Philip's use of them, William des Roches and the Angevin barons who went over to John, John's recovery of Anjou and Touraine, and the Le Goulet peace under which Arthur did homage to John for Brittany. Written a generation later at Tours but from local knowledge, and the main French narrative for Anjou, Touraine and Brittany in the year.
