The founding edition of Khmer and Cham Sanskrit epigraphy, public domain and online, which Coedes's later corpus supersedes but does not replace. It runs up to the generation before 1200: the records of Suryavarman II and his successors in Cambodia, and in Champa the Mỹ Sơn and Po Nagar stelae of the 12th-century kings up to the wars with the Khmer. Bergaigne's companion study, L'Ancien royaume de Campa, reconstructs the Cham king list from them. For the situation of 1200 these give the institutions, the royal genealogies and the temple foundations that both kingdoms carried into the Jayavarman VII era.
