Żarnów

An 11th-century gord on a hill, first written in 1065 and named in the papal bull of 1136 as one of the major gords of central Poland; Bolesław III founded a church here in 1111 and a parish church is recorded in 1191, probably Casimir II's foundation.

One of the Pilica castellanies, on the march towards the Łęczyca land and Masovia.
