Wadi al-Dawasir

The long oasis strip of the wadi where it breaks through the Tuwayq escarpment towards the Rub' al-Khali, on the old route between Najran and al-Yamama.

The tribe that gave it its present name, the Dawasir, is not attested there for 1200, and no chief place or ruler is named; al-Sulayyil at its southern end is a later centre.
