Town · The Swahili Coast and the Gold Country · as at first light, 1 January 1200

Tongoni

The ruined town of Tongoni near the village of Mtangata, with its mosque and some forty tombs, was inhabited from the late fourteenth or early fifteenth century to the seventeenth (Wikipedia, which also says, inconsistently, that it was established about the tenth century).

No town is attested here on 1 January 1200; at most a fishing village. Shown as a point so the campaign knows it is later.
