The bishop of Trent's harbour town at the north end of Lake Garda, with its lake castle (the Rocca, twelfth century) and the bishop's court sitting there at times (acts of 1155 and 3 April 1172).
Bishop Conrad consecrated its church of St Thomas of Canterbury in 1194. The town later has its own statutes under the bishop, but their date is not pinned.
