Pattikera (Comilla) and the Mainamati ridge

The old Samatata capital on the Lalmai and Mainamati ridge: the town of Pattikera, with the great brick monasteries of the ridge (Shalban, Ananda, Kotila Mura) and the hill-foot town of Devaparvata (board).

English Wikipedia lists Pattikera as the polity that precedes Tripura. A plate of Harikaladeva from 1220 is the nearest dated record we know of the local line. On 1 January 1200 it is the seat of an independent local king, outside the Sena realm, with a Sena claim.

What the year holds

Where the sources disagree

  • The brief speaks of Samatata lines. The sources we opened name no king for 1200.
  • The campaign board entry pattikera and devaparvata-bara-kamta are "contested"/"likely" under the Senas; we draw the line as independent.

Evidence: The campaign board entry and one modern page; the 1220 plate from memory.

"The campaign board" is OMNIA's working map. These notes record where its earlier claims were checked against the sources.
