Below the duke stand the palatine, who leads the host and stands in for the duke in judgement, the castellan of Wrocław, the court officers and the ducal chaplains and notaries, drawn from the Polish knightly families of the castle districts.
The nearest dated list is Henry the Bearded's Trzebnica charter (act of 28 June 1202, written 1203): it names a sub-chamberlain Potr (Piotr), a steward (dapifer) Iarozlaus (Jarosław), a cupbearer (pincerna) Predzlaus (Przecław), a master of the stable (agazo) Pribizlaus (Przybysław), a lictor Indrich (Jędrzych) and the castellans of seven castles, but no palatine. Whether these men already served Bolesław on 1 January 1200 is not pinned.
