Upper Benue

Along the north bank of the upper Benue from about Lau up to the Garoua country lived farming and fishing peoples, the later Bata and Bachama and, round Garoua, the Fali, each under its own chiefs.

The Jukun of Kwararafa downstream belong to the Yoruba-Benin area of this sheet. Nothing is written of them for 1200.
