The upland between the Godavari and the Krishna, a lattice of tank villages and nayaka holdings round the king's demesne at Orugallu and Hanamkonda.
The name Telingana for the whole is later than the Kakatiya inscriptions that speak of Andhra-desa; it is used here for the upland the kingdom holds in 1200. The delta is not in it.
