South-eastern lowveld peoples

Dry mopane and sand country drained by the Runde, Mwenezi, Bubye and lower Save in Zimbabwe and by the Changane in Mozambique: small farming communities along the rivers, herders where the tsetse allowed, and hunter-gatherers.

Elephant were plentiful and ivory hunters supplied the K2 kingdom and the coast. Trade paths between the plateau, the middle Limpopo and the coast (Chibuene and Sofala) may have crossed it. Nothing is known of its rulers.
