Kusasi and Gambaga country

The country above the Gambaga escarpment towards the Red Volta and the White Volta's upper course.

The Mamprusi kingdom, whose tradition puts its founder Gbewaa at Pusiga near Bawku, belongs with Dagbon to the fifteenth century; on 1 January 1200 the Kusasi, Bimoba and their neighbours live under earth priests, with no king.
